Amanda believes we need to bring better paying jobs locally to keep and bring the younger generation here. The key industries keeping young adults in Indiana are Skilled Trades, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Social Services, Education, Youth Development, Retail, Hospitality, IT and Technology. We need to explore more opportunities without taking away the small-town feel. She believes in supporting small businesses and giving back to the community. 

Amanda is against large-scale solar farms. The loss of prime agricultural land is detrimental to the farming community and Americans depending on the crops and livestock here in Indiana. Soil disruption, soil erosion during installation, contamination when panels are damaged, wildlife habitat issues, insurance, and tax implications. Several more issues have been found during research. 

Amanda believes that more strict zoning laws should be put into place to protect the farm lands and rural communities from those that have commercial investor interests over residential interests. She also believes that our local zoning should be listening to their residents’ concerns. This continues to be an issue spoken about throughout the county.  

 Amanda supports fair contracts and she supports workers having the choice in participating in workers’ unions (or labor unions). Employees should be allowed to join together to collectively bargain with their employers for better wages, benefits, safer working conditions, and fair treatment, giving them a stronger voice than they'd have individually. She believes in fair bidding for contracts and restrictions and oversight of government contracts being awarded.

  Amanda believes in the importance of all 27 amendments to the United States Constitution. She recognizes that the first 10 amendments are collectively known as the Bill of Rights, which provide essential protections for individual freedoms.
