Amanda believes we need to bring better paying jobs locally to keep and bring the younger generation here. The key industries keeping young adults in Indiana are Skilled Trades, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Social Services, Education, Youth Development, Retail, Hospitality, IT and Technology. We need to explore more opportunities without taking away the small-town feel. She believes in supporting small businesses and giving back to the community. 

  Amanda is against large-scale industrial solar, B.E.S.S., or Data Centers in rural areas. The loss of prime agricultural land is detrimental to the farming community and Americans depending on the crops and livestock here in Indiana. Soil disruption, soil erosion during installation, soil runoff, contamination when panels are damaged, wildlife habitat issues, insurance, and tax implications. Health concerns are extensive. 

  Amanda is a strong proponent of implementing more stringent zoning laws to safeguard farm lands and rural communities. She believes that these areas should be protected from commercial investor interests, which can often take precedence over the needs and priorities of residential communities.  She also believes that our local planning and zoning should be actively listening to the concerns of the residents and ensuring their voices are heard and valued. This issue remains a significant topic locally. 

 Amanda supports fair contracts and she supports workers having the choice in participating in workers’ unions (or labor unions). Employees should be allowed to join together to collectively bargain with their employers for better wages, benefits, safer working conditions, and fair treatment, giving them a stronger voice than they'd have individually. She believes in fair bidding, restrictions, and oversight of government contracts being awarded.

  Amanda believes in the importance of the foundation of the United States Constitution and all 27 amendments. She recognizes that the first 10 amendments are collectively known as the Bill of Rights, which provide essential protections for individual freedoms.
