Judge Jason B. Thompson was appointed to the State Court Bench by Governor Nathan Deal and sworn-in on May 22, 2013. He previously served as prosecutor, municipal court judge, and magistrate court judge.
As State Court Judge, he created the first DUI/Drug Court in the Griffin Judicial Circuit in 2015 and organized the Veterans Treatment Court in 2019.

Our History

Following graduation from law school, Jason came back home to Fayette County to serve his community. In addition to serving as President of the Fayette County Bar Association, Jason organized the People’s Law School and coordinated high school mock trial programs at the school, local, and state levels.

Prior to his appointment to the State Court bench, Jason managed his own law firm with a focus on helping people.

Over the years, Jason has served on various boards in his community, including AV Pride, the Joseph Sams School, Fayette County Youth Soccer League, AFC Lightning Soccer Club, Southern Crescent Chorale, and the Rotary Club of Peachtree City.

Jason lives in Fayetteville with his wife, Alisha, and their three children.
